35 years at APG: Lorenzo Mungo bids farewell to the packaging world and retires

When Grafiche Albertini’s technical department was established in 1989, the company—later renamed Albertini Packaging Group—went on to become one of the leading businesses in the European packaging industry. This marked the beginning of manager Lorenzo Mungo’s long and fulfilling career. This month, Lorenzo is retiring from corporate work after years of dedicated service and is about to enjoy his well-deserved retirement.

35 years of dedication alongside the company, during which he became an important and loyal role model. Lorenzo has accompanied and supported APG’s evolution along every step of his career: from being the head of design to preparing printing systems first done manually and then computerized, to managing the technical-commercial department, and finally to fully handling customer relations.

Lorenzo’s passion for his work brought continuous innovation to APG, positively influencing investment choices in technology and machinery. He contributed to the company’s growth and its ability to respond to an ever-increasing number of packaging requests.

From the creation of the first photolithographs to overseeing all divisions—luxury-cosmetic, pharma, and label—Lorenzo elevated APG’s name, demonstrating dedication, commitment, and devotion. His contributions were crucial to the company’s success, which he, along with his colleagues, considered his second family.

Lorenzo’s thoughts are with the young people and newcomers, to whom he wishes to continue building a positive and collaborative work environment. He encourages them to remain proactive in studying packaging and researching future trends, which he believes are key to the company’s continued success.

Lorenzo adds: “I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at APG because the human relationships formed over these many years, with both the owner and my colleagues, are what I will miss the most. I was fortunate to join a company that believes in professionalism, allowing room for personal development and providing well-deserved growth opportunities. It is only a work cycle that is ending, certainly not the mutual respect and affection.”

“Lorenzo has always been a cornerstone for APG. He has worked alongside the three generations that have succeeded, adapting to changes and always paying great attention to market trends in packaging. We are proud of his career, which we can describe as well-rounded: from design in the technical department to computerized design, and finally to the role of commercial manager. He has imparted knowledge to younger employees and maintained exceptional relationships with clients—both national and international—especially during important industry fairs. For us, a heartfelt thank you is more than deserved: for his impeccably executed work, for the knowledge he has passed down, and for the affection that has always kept us connected both inside and outside the company. Thank you for these 35 years with us.”

This is the thank you message that President Emilio Albertini and CEO Michal Sobieski extend to Lorenzo Mungo: a farewell, with a reminder that the doors of APG will always be open for him.
