APG: a successful 2025 ahead

With the holiday season approaching, APG is eagerly looking ahead to the new year with enthusiasm and positivity.

We look back at 2024 with satisfaction, knowing we have achieved and even surpassed many of our objectives; new investments have raised production quality, and new market segments – such as wine & spirits and home fragrances – have been successfully conquered.

For Albertini Packaging, 2024 has been quite a year that will end on a very positive note. We look forward with curiosity to what the new year has in store. And so we interviewed CEO Michal Sobieski to find out more about the company’s prospects for 2025.

What will APG’s strategic priorities be for the coming year?

Our main goal is to strengthen the company’s position in our target markets by focusing on technological innovation and sustainability. We are currently finalizing plans for a major investment in the offset printing department. This involves the absolute top-of-the-line equipment currently available on the market, which will significantly enhance our performance in terms of productivity, efficiency, and energy consumption.

Currently, we already have a highly reliable and top-quality fleet of machines, and this new addition will allow us to position ourselves even more competitively in the market. In our target sector, it is essential to refine the solutions we offer by providing high-quality services, exceptional craftsmanship, and innovative designs, supported by a wide range of dedicated resources.

This is a sector where mistakes are not an option, and perfection is the ultimate goal. The new printing machine—set to be installed in spring 2025—will allow us to be even more responsive in this regard, reducing the, albeit delicate, set-up times and giving us greater production capacity.

Another key objective is the relaunch of the Label division. In February/March, we will reposition the label department—self-adhesive, wet-glue sheet, and shrink-sleeves—into a brand-new space three times larger than the current one, while also introducing new technologies to produce increasingly complex and sophisticated labels. We strongly believe in the future of this division and aim to become even more competitive in the field of high-quality label production.

Lastly, we are heavily focused on sustainability. In June 2024, we introduced the role of an ESG manager, whose first goal is to prepare a sustainability report for the 2024 fiscal year. Although not legally required, we have chosen this path to align our policies with those of leading European multinationals.

Sustainability and attention to ESG criteria have been a priority for us for decades. Now is the time to formalize and align all our efforts with international standards in a structured and appropriate manner.

What is APG’s vision for 2025?

Our commitment is to continue improving, not only from an economic perspective but also socially and environmentally. Among our goals is to strengthen collaborations with international partners. This will also be supported by our ability to make technological investments, aimed both at increasingly powerful and efficient machinery and at new production spaces and environments.

The Belgrade plant also follows the same approach. 2024 has been a year in which we were able to reorganize very efficiently in Serbia, focusing heavily on automation, which will allow us to increase our production capacity, including for luxury hard boxes.

However, the most important investment remains, as always, the human one: our employees are at the heart of the company. This continues to align with APG’s mission, which emphasises professionalism, personal relationships, and the sharing of values such as dignity and inclusion.

It is primarily thanks to the skills of all our collaborators, their ideas, proactivity, and enthusiasm for work that APG ranks among the best paper-converting companies in Europe.

What connects the APG of the past to the APG of the future?

Every package, every idea tells a story, not only that of the product but also of our company. The expansion of our plants, the choice of certified materials, process innovation and the conquest of increasingly important markets are simply the natural evolution of a project that began more than 70 years ago.

Of course, to date the quantity and quality of productions have increased greatly, thanks to each small or large step taken from year to year.

What sets us apart from our past is the quality of our achievements, which have always combined excellence, functionality, and aesthetics. The added value comes from our ongoing commitment to ensuring a high level of corporate and environmental sustainability.

We are committed to contributing to a future in which packaging is a valuable narrative of the identity of brands that are increasingly environmentally conscious.

2024 ends on a high note for the company: what do you wish for the New Year?

I hope that the professionalism and trust in the work we’ve all done will continue to guide APG toward even greater achievements.

I would like to thank our colleagues in Robecco, Belgrade, and Paris, who contribute positively to the company’s growth and the great successes, all signed by APG.

This special time of the year offers an opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve built together, with the pillars being an optimistic, human, sustainable, and increasingly international vision.

A heartfelt thanks also goes to the many clients and brands who have trusted us with their ideas and design solutions across various sectors, choosing to be part of our great journey.

I look forward to 2025 with confidence and determination, certain that we will achieve even greater success.

Albertini Packaging wishes you all a

Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
